We are currently performing temporary disconnections for non paying water customers to clear debt.
When a temporary disconnection is completed, the industry/crm is updated with a Temporary Disconnection Read.
Any subsequent reads after this will reject in the market due to Read Type Inappropriate. This is because a Reconnection Read is the only read permitted to follow a Temporary Disconnection Read.
In Scotland - the rejection message we receive from industry is a T005.1. There is currently already a process for a ticket to be generated when a read rejects - this is a CMA Request Rejected ticket which goes into the Rejected CMA Orders container. However, for ‘Read Type Inappropriate’, the message contains Return Code 'AT” which is not currently programmed to generate a ticket
In England - this is a T105.R - Submit Meter Read. The same error code 'AT” is used for Inappropriate Read Type. Again, tickets already generate for rejected reads but using the England template which is the Failed Meter Read - Water ticket which is within the CMOS Rejects container.
Example on Account 970847 CID 1698564 - photos attached (Scotland)
We believe this can be fixed using Veracore. Under Commercial > Water > Rule Builder. This is where the other Reject Tickets show. The ‘Read Type Inappropriate’ error code is in here, but the ‘Create Ticket’ option is greyed out so unsure why.
Please can a ticket be generated when the error message Read Type Inappropriate occurs. This will allow us to identify/track any customers who may have illegally reconnected their supply.
Why would we do this?
